Running GPT Image 2, the current flagship. This page switches over to 2.5 the day it ships.

What GPT Image 2.5 has to beat

Every step in the GPT image line has come down to the same three things: text that survives at full size, edits that leave the rest of the frame alone, and reference images the model actually respects. GPT Image 2 set that bar in April 2026. Everything below is GPT Image 2 output, and the baseline a 2.5 release would be measured against.

Text that stays readable at full size

Posters, packaging, shop signage, slide graphics. The lettering comes out sharp and correctly spelled, so the file is ready to use rather than ready to redo. It is also the hardest thing image models get wrong, which makes it the clearest place to judge whether a new version is genuinely better.

Prompt

A minimalist letterpress concert poster: a 'NORTHERN LIGHTS' headline over 'Chamber Ensemble - Hall Two - 8 PM', a thin rule between them, and 'TICKETS AT THE DOOR' along the bottom edge. Deep indigo, cream ink, subtle paper grain.

Result
Indigo and cream letterpress-style concert poster generated by GPT Image 2, with a sharp NORTHERN LIGHTS headline and correctly spelled event details

Edit with a sentence

Describe the change in plain words. The model applies it and leaves the rest of the frame alone — the second thing any 2.5 release would have to improve on.

Change one thing, keep everything else

Swap an object, recolour a surface, restyle a background. The desk, the wall, the light and the camera angle all survive the edit intact, which is what makes a single hero image worth iterating on instead of regenerating from scratch.

Before
Oak desk with a closed grey notebook, a white mug, a potted succulent and reading glasses against a pale plaster wall
Instruction

Replace the closed notebook with an open sketchbook showing a pencil drawing of a bicycle, and make the mug matte black.

After
The same oak desk after editing, with an open sketchbook showing a bicycle drawing and the mug changed to matte black, everything else unchanged

Keep the subject, change the world around it

Hand the model a reference and move it somewhere new. Colour, texture and the small details that make an object recognisable carry across — here, the same knitted fox down to its crooked ear and its button eyes.

Before
Hand-knitted rust-orange plush fox with a cream chest and one crooked ear, photographed on a plain grey studio background
Instruction

Put this exact plush fox on a mossy log in a misty pine forest at dawn.

After
The same knitted fox on a mossy log in a misty pine forest at dawn, its yarn texture and crooked ear unchanged

Product shots without the shoot

Listing images, launch graphics, ad variants, localized store banners. Name the product, the surface it sits on and the light you want, and a usable frame comes back in under a minute — then run ten more before a studio would finish setting up.

Prompt

An e-commerce photograph of a frosted glass skincare bottle with a matte sage-green cap on a travertine block, hard afternoon sun, a dried eucalyptus sprig beside it, the label reading FIELD & FERN.

Result
Frosted glass skincare bottle with a sage-green cap on travertine in hard afternoon sunlight, an e-commerce product shot generated by GPT Image 2

How to generate on this page

1

Pick a mode

Text to Image is open by default with GPT Image 2 selected. Switch to Image to Image to edit something you upload. New accounts start with free credits.

2

Describe it properly

Name the subject, the light, any text that has to appear, and the layout. Set the aspect ratio from 16 options, plus resolution and quality.

3

Generate, then adjust

The first image lands in seconds at 8 credits. Change a few words, or feed the result back in as a reference, and download the one you keep.

What to use while 2.5 is unreleased

There is deliberately no GPT Image 2.5 column here. Its specifications have not been published, and inventing a row of them would help nobody. These four are the models this site can actually run today.
