
8 GPT Image 2 Design Prompts for Real-World Work
Copyable GPT Image 2 design prompts for worldbuilding, diagrams, storyboards, picture books, product ads and packaging—with 4 generated examples.
I started with Tomda's 21-example GPT Image 2 roundup expecting to keep most of it. I stopped after the third near-duplicate brand board.
The useful ideas were there: an exploded technical diagram, a complete fictional world on one sheet, a product storyboard, a deliberately rough sticker pack. But several prompts depended on an uploaded reference that was never defined. Others borrowed real brands or familiar characters. A few asked for everything at once and left the model to invent the hierarchy.
I cut the list to eight jobs I would actually hand to a model. Then I rebuilt each prompt as a small design brief. Four of them—the worldbuilding sheet, rover diagram, picture-book page and packaging board—include generated examples alongside the prompts.
The names in this guide are fictional placeholders, not cleared brand or book names. Check names, trademarks and source-image rights before commercial use.
The six lines that keep a complex prompt under control
Long prompts do not fail because they are long. They fail because every sentence appears equally important. I use this order:

That sequence matters more than 8K, masterpiece or a camera model. It gives the image a job and a reading order before it gives it decoration.
1. A worldbuilding system sheet, not a random moodboard
A worldbuilding board needs one governing idea. Here it is solar power in a desert city. Architecture, clothing, transport and infrastructure all have to solve the same heat, water and material problems.
Create one coherent visual worldbuilding board for an original
solar-powered desert civilization called Aurelia Dunes.
Deliverable and layout:
Landscape 3:2 presentation board on warm off-white paper. Use a precise
editorial grid. Make a wide environment view of a solar city carved
into sandstone mesas the largest panel.
Supporting views:
Add smaller aligned panels showing one architect, layered heat-resistant
clothing, a three-wheeled solar courier vehicle, a water-harvesting tower,
a topographic route map, material swatches and a sun-energy symbol.
Visual system:
Cinematic realistic concept art mixed with architectural presentation
drawing. Sandstone, sun-bleached linen, oxidized copper, muted
photovoltaic blue and charcoal. Hard desert daylight softened by dust.
Every panel must clearly belong to the same inhabited civilization.
Constraints:
Original characters and technology. No readable text, logos, trademarks,
watermarks, military styling, famous-film references or generic neon sci-fi.
The result held together because the supporting panels were not a shopping list. Each one answered the same brief. Even the copper pipework and blue photovoltaic surfaces recur across the city, vehicle and water tower.

2. A technical exploded-view infographic with a controlled legend
Color-coded arrows only help when each color has one job. I also name the machine and its major systems so the model is not forced to fill the page with convincing-looking nonsense.
Create a square museum-quality technical infographic of an original
autonomous agricultural rover named FIELD NODE 01.
Deliverable and layout:
Warm-white exhibit-board background. Center one large rover in a
45-degree isometric view, slightly exploded along clear axes. Keep the
whole machine visible with balanced white space. Add one small
cross-section and a few dimension lines.
Required components:
Battery pack, drive motors, compute module, cooling loop, soil-sensor
array, seed cartridge and camera mast.
Visual system:
Precise black technical-pen linework with selective photoreal material
rendering. Use red arrows only for power, blue for data, orange for
cooling and green for sensors.
Text, exactly as written:
"FIELD NODE 01", "POWER", "DATA", "COOLING", "SENSORS".
Constraints:
Readable typography. Routes only need to form a clear, internally
consistent concept diagram; do not present them as buildable engineering.
No other readable text, logos, trademarks, watermarks, weapons, military
styling, random numerals or dense micro-labels.
The image is detailed without becoming a wall of fake specifications. The legend is short enough to verify by eye, and the root-level sensor view makes the green route's sensor role easy to read. It is still concept art, not engineering documentation; verify every component and route before technical use.

3. Turn one product reference into a brand-system audit
This one is for image-to-image work. The uploaded product is evidence, not permission to redesign the logo or invent a brand history. Ask the model to separate what it can observe from what it is proposing.
Use only a product photograph you own or are authorized to use, and treat
it as the sole brand reference.
Create a clean 16:9 brand-system audit board for a direct-to-consumer
product presentation.
Keep unchanged:
Follow the reference closely for product shape, label wording, brand-mark
structure and existing colors. Do not repair, restyle or replace them.
Every item must be checked manually; do not promise pixel-level fidelity.
Board structure:
1. A large cutout of the original product.
2. An "OBSERVED" column with sampled color swatches, type traits,
packaging materials and recurring graphic shapes.
3. A "PROPOSED" column with one headline/body type direction, spacing
rules, background treatments and three photography setups.
4. Three small applications: product-page hero, square social ad and
shipping insert.
Style:
Modern editorial grid, generous white space, realistic material samples,
clear visual hierarchy and restrained annotation.
Constraints:
Do not invent claims, ingredients, certifications, prices or customer
quotes. Do not introduce third-party marks. Use short, readable labels only.The OBSERVED and PROPOSED split reduces the risk of invented brand rules being presented as facts, but every observed item still needs a human check. It also turns the board into something a designer can discuss instead of a collage that only looks finished.
4. A 12-shot product storyboard that has an arc
Twelve pretty frames are not a storyboard. Give each row a purpose: arrival, interaction, release and final product memory.
Create a vertical 2:3 advertising storyboard for an original unbranded
glass fragrance bottle filled with pale violet liquid.
Layout:
Three columns by four rows, 12 equal cinematic frames on a warm-white
paper background. Put the frame number and a short shot label beneath
each image, never inside it.
Continuity:
Use the same original adult model, ivory robe, room, bottle shape,
violet liquid and cool morning light in every relevant frame.
Shot order:
1 curtain silhouette; 2 seated breath; 3 bottle on table;
4 hand reaches for bottle; 5 cap removed; 6 mist in side light;
7 wrist application; 8 eyes closed; 9 fabric moving by the window;
10 bottle on pale stone; 11 model and bottle together;
12 clean hero product frame.
Visual system:
Quiet editorial fragrance photography, pale gray-violet palette, soft
window diffusion, glass highlights, restrained negative space.
Constraints:
No brand name, logo, trademark, watermark, duplicated limbs, changing
bottle geometry or unrelated props. Keep labels short and correctly ordered.The continuity block does more work than another paragraph of mood words. If the bottle changes shape between frames, shorten the shot descriptions before adding more style language.
5. A picture-book page with exact story order
For a multi-panel page, character continuity and reading order are separate constraints. I repeat the scarf, fur and proportions, then give every caption verbatim.
Create one original vertical 2:3 children's picture-book page titled
"MILO AND THE MOON SEED".
Story and layout:
Four clearly separated panels with rounded irregular borders, read from
top left to bottom right. Warm cream paper with natural grain. Show the
same small gray rabbit Milo finding a glowing seed, planting it, waiting
through light rain and smiling beside a moonlike sprout.
Style:
Soft gouache, colored pencil and crayon texture; loose natural sketch
lines; warm and safe for ages 4–7. Original illustration, not an
imitation of an existing illustrator.
Text, in this exact order:
Title: "MILO AND THE MOON SEED"
"Milo found a seed that shimmered."
"He tucked it into the earth."
"He waited, even when rain came."
"At last, a little moon rose."
Continuity:
Keep Milo's gray fur, rust-orange scarf, round ears, face and proportions
consistent in every panel.
Constraints:
Each sentence appears once. No other text, logos, trademarks, watermarks,
famous characters, glossy 3D rendering or frightening imagery.
Every requested sentence landed in the correct panel. More important, Milo remains recognizably the same rabbit through a change in weather and lighting.

6. An intentionally rough chat-sticker set
"Bad drawing" is too vague. The useful version defines the repeated mistakes so the set looks authored rather than randomly broken.
Create a 4-by-4 grid of 16 original chat stickers featuring the same
sleepy turnip character.
Character lock:
Off-white turnip body, three uneven green leaves, two dot eyes, one
crooked mouth and tiny stick arms. Keep these features in every cell.
Deliberately rough drawing system:
Mouse-drawn paint-program look, shaky black outlines, slightly wrong
proportions, flat bucket-fill colors, occasional gaps at corners and
uneven handwritten lettering. Repeat the same kinds of mistakes across
the whole set.
Expressions and text:
"OK", "NOPE", "LATER", "HELP", "NICE", "WHY", "BUSY", "DONE",
plus eight wordless reactions: cheering, hiding, staring, sleeping,
running, crying, dancing and face-down exhaustion.
Layout and constraints:
One centered sticker per cell with generous padding. Keep all 16 cells
independent and readable. No famous characters, logos, trademarks,
watermarks, polished vector lines or extra text.If you supply a reference character, add one sentence saying exactly which traits must survive. Do not merely write "based on the uploaded image" and hope the model guesses.
7. A product still life with controlled motion
Suspended water, sliced ingredients, droplets and shiny packaging can turn into visual noise. I assign each element a position and keep the label blank.
Create a square photorealistic product advertisement for one original
unbranded facial-mist bottle.
Subject and arrangement:
Place a frosted pale-amber glass bottle upright in the center on a warm
beige seamless surface. The label is blank. Arrange three sliced yuzu,
two whole yuzu and a few green leaves in a loose crescent behind and
beside the bottle, never covering its silhouette.
Motion and surface detail:
One controlled arc of clear water passes behind the bottle and breaks
into a few suspended droplets near the shoulder. Add fine condensation
to the glass and fresh moisture only on the fruit flesh.
Lighting and camera:
Soft directional morning light from upper left, realistic crisp shadow,
100mm macro look, moderate depth of field, bottle and front fruit sharp.
Constraints:
No text, logo, trademark, watermark, floating bottle, extra packaging,
milky liquid, excessive splash or ingredients crossing the bottle label.The phrase one controlled arc is deliberate. Without a count and a route, "splashing water" often takes over the product.
8. An industrial packaging board with matching views
A portfolio board is useful only if the hero render, side views and dieline describe the same object. I lock proportions and graphics before I ask for sketch texture.
Create a professional vertical 2:3 packaging design presentation board
for an original loose-leaf tea product called MOSS & MIST.
Product:
A cylindrical reusable paper tea canister with a nested paper lid,
uncoated recycled oat paper, deep moss-green forest gradient, a thin
copper-foil line and a pale-gray paper liner. In the open view, show a
shallow layer of loose dried green tea leaves. No tea bags or filler paper.
Board structure:
Place one hero three-quarter 3D render in the upper middle. Surround it
with front, side, top, bottom and open-canister views; one rectangular
wrap template for the cylindrical body; separate circular lid and base
components; a lid-seam cross-section; millimeter dimension arrows; three
material swatches; and one small closure sketch. Do not draw a folding-
carton net, box tabs or box flaps.
Style:
Realistic commercial packaging render mixed with precise pencil
concept-structure sketches on warm-white sketchbook paper. Soft neutral
studio light and generous white space.
Text:
Use "MOSS & MIST", "LOOSE LEAF TEA" and "RECYCLED PAPER" consistently
on relevant package views. Functional view labels may be "FRONT VIEW",
"SIDE VIEW", "TOP VIEW", "BOTTOM VIEW", "OPEN CANISTER VIEW",
"LID SEAM CROSS-SECTION", "BODY WRAP TEMPLATE", "LID COMPONENT",
"BASE COMPONENT" and "HAND SKETCH — CLOSURE". Show height "120 mm",
diameter "85 mm" and the derived wrap width "267 mm" only beside their
corresponding views. Do not put dimensions on the lid-seam detail.
Constraints:
Keep package proportions, forest graphic and typography identical across
every view. No marketing copy beyond the specified brand text. No
third-party logos, trademarks, watermarks, unrelated props, plastic
bottles or dense notes.
The wordmark repeats because a real packaging board shows several faces of the same object. The important check is not "one label only"; it is whether every repeat is spelled and placed consistently. The revised image replaced the incorrect folding-carton net with a cylindrical wrap and separate lid/base components, then replaced bag-like contents with loose leaves and removed dimensions from the seam sketch. My three-step workflow for adapting these prompts
- Replace nouns before changing style. In the GPT Image 2 generator, swap the product, character or machine while keeping the layout and constraint blocks intact for the first run.
- Check the system, not just the hero panel. Compare recurring faces, package geometry, colors, labels and reading order. Use the site's image editor to correct one invariant at a time.

The Bottom Line
From the 21 examples I started with, the useful remainder was not eight new styles. It was eight clear deliverables: a system sheet, exploded diagram, storyboard, picture-book page, sticker grid, product still life, audit board and packaging board. Styles change; deliverables, reading order and consistency rules are reusable.
Name the artifact. Pick one visual anchor. List the supporting evidence. Lock what repeats. Quote the text. Then remove anything the model would otherwise have to fake.
That is enough structure to turn a clever example into a prompt you can use again.
